Since AHS Graduation: Attended NC State and graduated in Crop Science in 1967 and received a Masters in Plant Pathology in 1970. Worked with the Department of Agriculture in Raleigh for a couple of years and then sold Agricultural Chemicals for 25 years beginning in Raleigh then Greenville, NC until 1985. Moved to Atlanta for a couple of years, then Raleigh for 2 years then back to Atlanta until 2003. Retired from the chemical business in 1996. Moved to North Myrtle Beach in 2003.
I began dancing (the shag) in Greenville in 1980 about the time I met Jackie. We became dance partners and since then have taught and competed across the country. As a result of our travels and exposure to various types of dance, we started a dance event/competition in Atlanta in 1995 and ran it for 16 years. It brought together the shag and other forms of swing and featured some of the best dancers in the country. Through dancing, we have been blessed to have shared a common interest and mutual love for over 30 years.
Hobbies/Interests: Dancing, golf, serving in our church
Apex Memories:
Baseball and football with Coach Garmon. Shop with Mr Holland. Of course, who could forget Mr Quick. Band with Mr Burke with all the Christmas parades, football games and band bus trips. Driving the school bus and waiting for Mr Quick to wave us out with his yard stick. What now I really appreciate...the carefree days of youth..
Message To Your Classmates: I have enjoyed reading the information sheets and being reminded of those “good old days”. We get so busy living our lives that we sometimes don’t realize how fast time is passing. I see so many Apex addresses and can’t help but wish sometimes that I too had stayed closer to home. I am looking forward to seeing everyone in October.
